Self-Portrait
A Gift to the World is a self-portrait celebrating the intersection of Inglewood’s Latinx and Black communities. The sunflowers– a gift from Mexico to the world–along with the outline of a pre-Columbian Colima dog motif pay tribute to the artist’s mestizo heritage while the colorful, abstracted map acknowledges the area’s history of redlining and gentrification.

The We Are… rider portrait exhibition celebrates the diversity and community of transit riders through multiple formats and locations—buses, trains, stations across Los Angeles County, and online. Tag your selfie #SomosWeAreLA to be part of Metro’s portrait exhibition and share your journey with the city.
